Julie Ludwick has been choreographing and teaching trapeze-dance in NYC since 1992 and is founder and Artistic Director of Fly-by-Night Dance Theater, Inc.  She holds a Masters Degree in Dance and Dance Education from Teachers College, Columbia University and is a certified teacher in the Skinner Releasing Technique.� Her approach to trapeze-dance is as a modern dancer; the work is based on kinesthetic awareness and using improvisational structures to allow expressive movement to emerge.

All Workshops are aimed to increase students' trapeze-dance vocabularies through discovery of the dance in between tricks.  Basic hangs and skills are introduced with an emphasis on proper body mechanics.  These moves are then explored in improvisational structures.  All classes incorporate Skinner Releasing Technique, a meditative dance technique that uses images from nature.  These images can aid in letting go of tension and help free the body for creative impulses.
